10 things I like for ... Spring

We're well into September and Spring at that but I always like things to settle a bit anyway as the weather never really arrives right one time. So here are 10 things I like for Spring, some are local and some are global - gotta keep things relevant ♥

1. FAIRLADY’S 30 Day Solution Wardrobe – Don’t know what to wear or how to put key items together? FAIRLADY puts together 30 outfits based on key seasonal trendy pieces every month. I like the fact that there’s always a theme and colour palette with different looks to fit everybody. Plus it’s a wardrobe that doesn’t break the bank!

2. Luella Chuffed Flats Collection: Beaded Coral Sandal | Metal Cuffed Flat | Suede Cuff Sandal

3. Crochet Tops. Crochet is an all round trend seen in textiles and furniture – I love how it's been reinterpreted from almost old-fashioned to ultra feminine and crafted. Jay-Jay’s Crop Lace Tee | Hang Ten Crochet Trim Vest | Monsoon Layla Lace Shrug

4. Temporary Tattoos via GirlTrends. Still haven't quite plucked up the courage for the real one, so the these dainty but with edge temporaries will have to do: Florals from Urban Decay | Chain with Bird from CHANEL

5. With everything blooming after the big chill, spending time outside is the best thing you can do for your body and soul. Most cities have nurseries / garden centres , parks or botanical gardens, often with guided walks. If you live in Windhoek The National Botanic Garden of Namibia is open all week with open or guided walks every first Saturday of the month from 8:00 to 11:00. If you live in Cape Town, Jozi or Durbs - well there is no excuse really.

6. Get healthy with Smoothies, great for breakfast and hot afternoons with energy slumps. 500 smoothies & juices will get you inspired. The Craft Café in Windhoek makes the best widest variety of seasonal smoothies. Pic by Tommy Lösch

7. PLASCON Spaces Magazine - has great ideas on paint projects as well as the all important colour trend forecast for 2011. I love the Romance Rekindled pallet but really they're all great. Now is the best time for new DIY projects. Natural light is better, days are warmer and longer, so spending time on projects even after work is more realistic.

8. Garnier Pure Active really does zap problem skin to spring perfection.

9. Plaits go perfectly with the crochet look. Here's how to from Sugar Scape.

10. My lovely sister Melissa has been very hard at work raising funds for the The Sunflower Fund The Sunflower Fund is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation based in Cape Town, South Africa, with a vision to give all South Africans diagnosed with leukaemia and other life-threatening blood disorders the chance of life, irrespective of their race and financial circumstances.
